2024 CMT Music Awards: Toby Keith Honored With All-Star Tribute Featuring Lainey Wilson, Brooks & Dunn and Sammy Hagar

Toby Keith lost his battle with cancer in February. Two months after his death, on Sunday, the 2024 CMT Music Awards will honor the singer with an all-star tribute featuring Brooks & Dunn, Lainey Wilson and Sammy Hagar, backed by Keith’s band. Lukas Nelson and Roger Clemens will make special appearances.

Keith sold more than 44 million albums and recently received a posthumous induction into the 2024 Country Music Hall of Fame. Throughout his career, the proud Oklahoman released 61 singles that charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and 32 of them made it to No. 1. In 2021, he was awarded the National Medal of Arts.

Kelsea Ballerini will host the 2024 CMT Music Awards, which will air LIVE from Austin, Texas’ Moody Center on Sunday, April 7 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS. The show will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.*

Monday, the Top Six nominees for Video of the Year were announced: Ashley McBryde - “Light On In the Kitchen”; Cody Johnson - “The Painter”; HARDY - “Truck Bed”; Jelly Roll - “Need A Favor”; Kelsea Ballerini - “IF YOU GO DOWN (I’M GOIN’ DOWN TOO); Lainey Wilson “Watermelon Moonshine.”

The top three nominees for “Video of the Year” will be announced Sunday morning. Voting will continue through the LIVE show, leading up to the reveal of the night’s biggest award.

Johnson, Jelly Roll, Ballerini, Wilson and Moroney are tied for the most nominations of the night.

CMT will encore the 2024 CMT MUSIC AWARDS on Thursday, April 11, at 7:00 PM ET/PT.
